The plan is to attempt to invite both power conference teams and mid-major programs.

The project would have mid-major squads, teams from the power conferences, and their staffs isolated in locations in Johnson City for an undetermined amount of games.
The concept would be similar to the NBA’s bubble established on the Disney resort grounds in Orlando that has resulted in a resumption of play along with rapid COVID testing and zero positive cases.
Rothstein also reported that nearby Asheville is being evaluated as a bubble city for the annual Maui Invitational tournament with games being played at Harrah’s Cherokee Center downtown.
