Police: JC man allegedly attempted to steal taxi while 3-month-old was inside
Police have arrested a Johnson City man after he allegedly tried to steal a taxi while a 3-month-old child was inside.
Johnson City Police say on Sunday night they were called to Clark St. Baptist Church where suspect Travis Dulaney, 37, was walking in the area pushing a stroller with a 3-month-old in it. Police found Dulaney was intoxicated and called for a taxi, but when it arrived, Dulaney reportedly refused to get inside.
Officers tried to take him into custody for public intoxication, but the man resisted and tried to steal the taxi while the toddler was in the vehicle. Police arrested the man after a brief altercation.
Dulaney faces additional charges to his charge of public intoxication, including felony child endangerment, resisting arrest, and felony attempted motor vehicle theft.
