Johnson City Police investigating alleged hit and run incident that hospitalized one
Johnson City Police have identified a person of interest and vehicle in an alleged hit and run incident that happened Saturday evening.
Police say they responded to the intersection of St of Franklin Rd and Spring St just before 7:30 p.m in a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle. Video posted to social media shows what appeared to a white Ford Expedition allegedly hitting a pedestrian before it fled the scene. Officials say that multiple videos including from witnesses, traffic cameras, and nearby businesses are being reviewed.
The pedestrian that was struck was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries where their condition is unknown. Authorities in North Carolina were assisting in the search for the person and vehicle on Sunday.
