UPDATE: Southwest Virginia mother and son indicted for murder, concealing dead body

A Southwest Virginia grand jury indicted a mother and son who police said plotted and killed a Tazewell County man.

Justin Michael Hackler, 25, and Leslie Burner Hackler, 48, are facing charges in the death of Tazewell resident David Allen Hayes whose body was found buried underneath a single-wide trailer in July on the Hackler’s property.

Hayes was reportedly dating Leslie Hackler at the time of his death, according to the Bland County Sheriff’s Office.

She was arrested last month after she fled the area and was located in Georgia.

Justin Hackler is charged with second-degree murder while Leslie Hackler faces charges of conspiracy and concealing a dead body.
