Bristol, Va man sentenced to 12 years on federal child pornography charges

A Bristol, Va man will serve 12 years in prison following a guilty plea to federal charges related to possession and distribution of child pornography.

Jonathan Sexton, 33, was sentenced Monday in US District Court in Abingdon on two counts of distributing child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography. Prosecutors say Sexton exchanged lewd photos and videos with what he thought was a 14-year old girl over the app Kik over a four month period earlier this year.

Sexton was actually sharing the illegal photos and videos with an undercover FBI agent who posed as the teen. He pled guilty in the case in June.
