Wythe County Sheriff: One dead, homicide investigation underway

Authorities in Wythe County, VA are investigating a homicide that occurred Saturday night which left one man dead.

The Wythe County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence in the Barron Springs community where deputies were told a male had a gunshot wound to the chest. Police arrived to the home and found that individual deceased, while the suspect, who was also on scene, was taken into custody.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide from domestic violence.
