City leaders want feedback on features for new location for Scott Adams Memorial Skate Park

Kingsport recreation officials are seeking public input for what they want to see at a new skateboard area that will be constructed within Brickyard Park.

The Scott Adams Memorial Skate Park is being relocated in the coming years from its Cloud Park location on East Center Street after a land swap deal between the city and Domtar last month that the company plans to use for expansion.

Domtar is also contributing construction capital to help with the new skate area.

One of only a few dedicated skateboard parks in the Tri-Cities, the original was built in honor of Adams who was 13 when he was struck and killed on Stone Drive while retrieving his board.
