Driver killed in collision on Route 23 in Scott County, Virginia

One person is dead following a crash at a Scott County, Virginia intersection.

A report from State Police says the wreck occurred just before 5:30 Sunday afternoon on Route 23 and Clinch River Highway when two vehicles collided.

The driver of a sedan did not survive while the car’s passenger was taken by air rescue to a local hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV was also taken for medical treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
