US Sen. Alexander to vote to confirm Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett
Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett received high remarks from TN US Senator Lamar Alexander during their meeting Wednesday in Washington D.C.
“During her confirmation hearings, Judge Barrett demonstrated respect for the law, intelligence, good character and steady temperament. Having attended college in Tennessee and law school in Indiana, her background will strengthen the Supreme Court by making it more diverse. She is well-qualified and has said she will decide cases based upon the law, not her personal views. Judge Barrett will be an excellent Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, and I will vote to confirm her nomination.”
Alexander confirmed via Twitter that he will be among one of the Senate Republicans to vote to confirm Barrett’s nomination, as the party seeks to fill the vacant seat left in the wake of last month’s death of former justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Several national media outlets report Senate Democrats may boycott today’s Senate Judiciary Committee proceedings to move Barrett’s nomination to a full Senate vote.
