UPDATE: Appalachian State chancellor tells students to stay vigilant despite drop in COVID cases
Appalachian State Chancellor Shari Everts says students must remain vigilant despite a recent trend on the Boone campus that shows COVID-19 rates dropping by the week.
Recent data shared by the university showed 34 students and 3 employees are in treatment for the virus as of Friday—a dramatic drop when compared with 225 cases just two weeks ago.
App State has implemented free COVID test on-site three days a week since the death last month of sophomore Chad Dorrill—one of the first documented virus deaths of college students in the US.
