TN Sec. of State: 1.6 million votes cast for 2020 election through first ten days of early voting

Total votes cast in TN for the 2020 Presidential Election has neared the two million mark as the state moves into the final week of early voting.

An update from Secretary of State Tre Hargett’s Office reports that 1.46 million people have cast their ballot in-person, while the state has also received over 184,000 absentee ballots. The turnout through the first ten days of early voting represents a 39% increase from the 2016 election, while it’s a 65% increase from the 2012 election.

Across Northeast TN, over 107,000 people have either cast their ballot in-person or absentee through Saturday, as Sullivan County had the most in-person votes with 34,515, while Washington County had the most absentee votes with 4,496.
