Federal Unemployment Benefits Will Soon End For Many Tennesseans
Tennesseans who are receiving benefits for Federal Unemployment will soon see the assistance end. The 600 dollar per month benefit for the State’s Unemployment Compensation program ran out in July. The Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and Pandemic Emergency unemployment Compensation programs will expire after claimants receive 26 to 39 weeks of benefits or on December 26, whichever comes first. The state of Tennessee currently provides unemployment benefits through four separate programs, two of which are new federal programs as part of the CARES Act approved by Congress.
