Pal’s Sudden Service founder Pal Barger dies at 90
The founder of regional fast-food chain giant Pal’s Sudden Service has passed away.
The company released a statement Thursday evening of Pal Barger’s passing, who died of natural causes. Pal’s says Barger had been declining in health for the past two years. Barger spent over 70 years in the restaurant industry in a variety of positions, including starting his restaurant chain with its first store in Kingsport in 1956, as it has now expanded to 30 locations across Northeast TN and Southwest VA.
Barger and Pal’s also earned numerous accolades for the restaurant’s quality and service, including the prestigious Baldridge National Quality award. Barger was 90 years old.
