THP: Bluff City man killed in Thursday evening crash on I-81

One person has died following a fatal accident Thursday evening on Interstate 81 in Greene County.

Tennessee Highway Patrol says the crash happened just after 5 p.m yesterday around mile marker 46, when a box truck traveling north ran into the back of a tractor-trailer that was slowing down. The driver of the box truck, Austin Owens, 21, of Bluff City, was killed in the wreck, while the tractor-trailer driver was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.
