NEW: Northam amends executive order clearing return for high school athletic competition in Virginia

Final stipulations for Virginia sporting events were released Friday as Governor Ralph Northam amended an executive order that allows high schools to begin practices and schedule events for this winter.

Member schools have been given a list of mitigation guidelines to follow for competition that included input from state health officials with enhanced disinfecting practices and providing the necessary equipment for safeguards against the virus.

The stipulation of 50 percent crowd capacity or up to 250 people for games in gymnasiums and stadiums remains in place. Winter sports workouts are scheduled to commence Dec. 7th.
