Federal judge sentences Johnson City man to over 13 years in prison on child porn charges

A Johnson City man has been sentenced to over 13 years in federal prison after being found in possession of child pornography videos.

Last month, a US District Court judge in Greeneville sentenced Nathan Alexander Kirkland, after he previously pleaded guilty to one count of receiving child pornography in September of 2018, while another count in a June 2018 indictment was dismissed. The investigation began in late 2017 and over a two month period, undercover agents downloaded eight child pornography videos from Kirkland’s computer using a peer-to-peer file sharing program.

Kirland was also ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution during his sentencing.
