TN receives federal approval for Katie Beckett program
The state of Tennessee’s Katie Beckett Program has received federal approval and self-referrals forms are expected to be taken starting later this month.
The Katie Beckett Program is a program for children with disabilities and or complex medical needs who are not eligible for Medicaid because of their parent’s income or assests. The state’s TennCare says the Katie Beckett Program will be split into two parts, with part A that will provide Medicaid services to children with the most significant disabilities or medical needs. Part B is a Medicaid diversion program which will not have eligible children enrolled in Medicaid, but will allow them to receive a capped support package of up to $10,000 annually.
The program was signed into law last year by Gov. Bill Lee and more information about Tennessee’s Katie Beckett program can be found by clicking here.
