Johnson City Commissioners Hope to Ease Some Child Care Facility Restrictions
Johnson City Commissioners will introduce an ordinance that could lift several layers of regulatory measures creating a barrier to entry for future day care facilities to operate in the city. Commissioners will consider revising overly restrictive, and potentially arbitrary, limitations as well as streamline review and approval processes. The aim is to increase the number of legal child care agencies in order to provide more safe places for the local workforce to have their children cared for. Commissioners will also hear an update on the City’s 2020-2025 strategic plan. The meeting is scheduled for this Thursday at 600 pm, at Johnson City’s City hall and will be livestreamed.
