Early morning fire destroys vacant home in Carter County
A vacant Carter County home was destroyed following an early morning fire.
The Hampton Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Department reported they were dispatched to a structure fire at a home on Crook St just after 4 a.m Tuesday. They found flames visible through the roof and windows when they arrived, and took necessary measures to protect surrounding homes. The department extinguished the fire just after 7:30 a.m., and no injuries were reported.
One nearby home received minor heat damage according to the department.
