Bristol Voters Approve Casino Style Gambling…First In Commonwealth
Bristol Virginia will be the first city in the Commonwealth to approve casino style gambling. With, a majority of precincts reporting it appears the casino gambling referendum will be approved by a large margin. Southwest Virginia businessman Jim McGlothlin and partner Clyde Stacy are teaming up with Hard Rock for a multi million dollar Hotel and Casino that will be located at the former Bristol Mall. The referendum must be finalized and approved by the Virginia Lottery Board. Meanwhile, in Tazewell County, Virginia voters there have said no in a resounding way to a referendum that would have moved a Confederate monument off Tazewell County property with more than 92 percent of voters saying no to the proposal.
