Tazewell County Says No To Removal Of Confederate Monument From Courthouse Grounds
Besides the General election, voters in southwest Virginia were also voting on two constitutional amendments and considered a controversial referendum in Tazewell County. Amendment number one to establish a redistricting commission, made up of eight members of the General Assembly and eight citizens from the Commonwealth was rejected. Voters, also by a huge margin, rejected a referendum that would have removed a monument of a Confederate Soldier from the grounds of the Tazewell County Courthouse.
