Sheriff: Murder suspect out of SC arrested Monday in Johnson County

A man accused of murder out of South Carolina has been arrested in Johnson County.

Johnson County Sheriff Eddie Tester said deputies located an abandoned vehicle Sunday on Sprucy Ln. that turned out to be reportedly stolen and owned by an individual that was killed out of Pickens County, SC.

On Monday, police made contact with suspect David Michael Watkins, 29, and investigators say Watkins was the person responsible for the homicide and bringing as well as abandoning the vehicle into Johnson County.

Watkins is being held without bond in the Johnson County jail awaiting extradition back to SC.
