Johnson City couple ordered to pay $9 million following sentence in Medicaid scheme in three states
A Johnson City woman convicted along with her husband on federal fraud charges involving their drug screening company was sentenced to four months home confinement.
A report from US District Court in Abingdon says Regan Dube must also complete 400 hours of community service for her role in the scheme that resulted in millions of dollars in Medicaid payments from Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee being collected.
Michael Dube, Regan’s husband, devised a kickback plan through third parties referrals to their testing company, according to prosecutors.
The couple was ordered by a federal judge to pay $9 million in restitution. Michael Dube will be sentenced in January.
