Town of Abingdon Veterans Day Celebration to see some changes due to COVID-19

Changes are being made to the Town of Abingdon’s Veterans Day Celebration due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The town announced Monday that it will reduce the ceremony size as well as the number of guests this year, in addition to those in attendance being asked to wear a mask and social distance. There will be no shuttles running or manned booths the day of the event. For those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, organizers ask you stay home and watch the ceremony online, which will be posted to the town’s website.

The Veterans Day ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m.
