18 Year old Bicyclist’s Injured After Hit And Run In Carter County

Carter County authorities are searching for the driver of a van who hit an 18 year old male while riding a bike on Gap Creek Road on Tuesday. The male, who identified himself as Mason Lewis was struck by a white transit van, driven by an older male, who did not stop according to a witness. Debris on the side of the road indicates the van may have lost its passenger side mirror in the incident. Charges are pending if the driver of the van is located. Lewis was transported to Johnson City Medical Center complaining of pain in his left arm, left leg and left hip.
