JCPD: Man who allegedly stole several vehicles, evaded police now in custody
A Johnson City man is now in custody after police say he stole several vehicles over the last two weeks and evaded custody.
Johnson City Police arrested Jerry Lee Greer Jr., 24, on several charges including five counts of motor vehicle theft, five counts of evading arrest, in addition to drug and weapons charges. An investigation by police says Greer stole numerous vehicles in the area, and even resisted and evaded arrest during one incident at a gas station on Nov. 3. Police located Greer on Wednesday in a stolen vehicle, and was also in possession of a handgun as well as methamphetamine.
Greer is in jail on a $104,000 bond and awaits a court date scheduled for Thursday.
