Tazewell County Helping Carilion Expand Telehealth Medicine

Carilion Clinic in Tazewell County is receiving more than 360 thousand dollars in CARES Act funds that will expand telemedicine and improve access to primary and speciality care services. According to a release from the clinic, the funds were approved by the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors Tuesday night. Carilion transitioned to telehealth at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic and is still connecting with patients virtually. The release goes on to say that telehealth will continue to be a valuable tool for patient care, especially in rural communities throughout the region.
