Elizabethton police report fatality following SUV crash on West Elk
A single-vehicle crash on Elizabethton’s West Elk Avenue has left one person dead.
A preliminary report from police said Laura Shea Trent, 23, of Johnson City, was ejected from the SUV she was driving and died at the scene of the wreck that occurred just before 2:30 Tuesday morning.
The investigation determined that Trent’s SUV hit a concrete curb and island causing the vehicle to overturn, skid across West Elk, overturn again, and strike a guardrail that sent the SUV airborne.
