Local police departments participating in 2020 Click-it-or-ticket campaign
The Tennessee Click-it-or-ticket roadway safety campaign gets underway Monday as more drivers are expected to hit the roadways for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Agencies partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office will increase enforcement of seatbelt wearing in an effort to reduce potential deaths in accidents due to occupants not wearing seatbelts. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in 2018, there were nearly 10,000 people killed in accidents due to being unbuckled.
Among local agencies participating in this year’s campaign includes the Kingsport Police Department and the Greene Co. Sheriff’s Department. The campaign runs through Nov. 29.
