Several SWVA tourism organizations to receive grant money
Nearly two dozen Southwest Virginia tourism organizations are receiving grants from the state to aid in recovery from effects brought on by the pandemic.
It’s part of a $1.9 million Recovery Marketing Leverage program launched by Gov. Ralph Northam along with the Virginia Tourism Corporation, and the funds will work to spur economic activity and future travel across the state.
Local organizations to receive funds includes areas in Abingdon, Bristol, Coeburn, Duffield, Emory, Gate City, Grundy, Hiltons, Lebanon, Marion, Pennington Gap, and Wytheville.
