Hawkins County Schools: Volunteer High School to move to 100% virtual learning starting today

School leaders in Hawkins County have now moved a second school in the district to 100% virtual learning amid increasing positivity rates of COVID-19 and quarantine numbers.

Director of Schools Matt Hixson said in a news release Tuesday that in addition to Surgoinsville Elementary shifting to fully remote learning, Volunteer High School will do the same, with those changes starting Wednesday and continuing through Nov. 27.

The district expects in-person learning to return the following Monday, Nov. 30. Cafeteria staff will provide meal pick-up service daily from 11-1 on site.
