UT Chancellor Donde Plowman to miss weekend commencement after going into quarantine
University of Tennessee Chancellor Donde Plowman will help run the school from home as she went into quarantine on Thursday.
The university announced that Plowman had been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 and will remain at her residence for 14 days.
Commencement ceremonies scheduled for this weekend in Knoxville will be hosted by Provost John Zomchick in her absence. Plowman has reported that she has no symptoms of the virus.
There have been 46 new cases confirmed at UT since Sunday, according to the school’s COVID-19 dashboard.
