Late models drivers to test dirty Bristol banks weekend prior to Dirt Weekend at BMS
Bristol Motor Speedway announced Friday a precursor event that takes place the weekend before the much-touted Food City Dirt Race for the NASCAR Cup Series.
A selected crop of late model drivers will compete in the Bristol Dirt Nationals scheduled for March 15-20. The report said other grassroots organization drivers and classes will be apart of the event.
Mounds of dirt will be packed onto the World’s Fastest Half-Mile for the first time since 2001 when the World of Outlaws came to Thunder Valley.
Following the Dirt Nationals, the next weekend will have the Camping World Truck Series on Saturday followed by the first Cup Series point race held on dirt since Sept. of 1970.
