Governor signs executive order to activate National Guard to help Tennessee medical centers with staffing
A new wave of COVID cases across Tennessee has hospitals and long-term care facilities short-staffed.
Help in the form of an executive order was signed Friday by Governor Bill Lee which will allow qualified National Guard members to serve as nurses, ambulance drivers, and conduct diagnostic testing.
The order also allows medical centers and nursing homes to increase their bed capacity and establish treatment areas at any location if necessary to treat virus patients.
