Kingsport City Schools: All schools to move hybrid schedule starting Dec. 7, except for Sevier Middle who will conduct classes virtually
All but one school in the Kingsport City School system will make the switch to a hybrid learning schedule when students return to classes on Monday.
The district announced that its operating schedule for Dec. 7-18 will have PreK-12 students attend classes on a hybrid schedule, with one of the two major changes coming in the PreK-5 grade area, as students in those grades were previously attending school five days per week. Those select students will now go to classes in-person four days, with Wednesday reserved for remote learning.
Students in grades 6-12 will continue on a two day in-person/three day virtual schedule, with the in-person learning schedule broken down by last name.
As for students who attend Sevier Middle School, they will be attending classes completely virtual Dec. 7-11 due to staffing issues, according to the district.
