Key Safety Personnel Absences Force BVPS To Switch To Virtual Learning Format

Bristol Virginia Public Schools is moving to a virtual learning format Monday, for the remainder of the week due to a number of absences in key safety positions at some of the system’s schools. That word comes from Bristol Virginia Schools Superintendent Dr. Keith Perrigan in a letter to school staff. Up to this point the school system’s Return To School Plan has been successful according to Perrigan, but without the ability to fully implement the plan at all schools the decision was made because the balance of risk has now shifted due to safety concerns, according Perrigan. Dr. Perrigan says following Christmas Break schools in Bristol Virginia will remain virtual through at least January 12.
