Health commissioner: COVID test sites in Tennessee to transition to allow workers to administer vaccines

Tennessee Health Commissioner Lisa Piercey says some COVID test sites across the state will transition in the coming days to allow personnel to pivot to administering the virus vaccine.
Those sites will provide take-home COVID test kits for adults for three days a week beginning Dec. 21. County health departments will continue their free virus testing on weekdays.
The new at-home testing will require the patient to register with the state and then receive their results online which will be available within 72 hours of arrival to labs.
The department reported that 16 percent of COVID tests in Tennessee are administered at the mobile test sites.
