Hawkins County Schools to finish out fall semester completely remote

Hawkins County Schools are now operating in a full virtual schedule for the remainder of the fall semester.

An announcement from Director of Schools Matt Hixson says the district has also made a decision on how to start the Spring semester, as they will operate completely remote the week of Jan. 4-8.

Hixson said the decision comes in part due to increased positive case counts in the county as well as the number of individuals quarantined across the school system.
