Two Arrested For Death Of 19 Month Old In Johnson City

Two Johnson City residents are jailed Wednesday and charged with the murder of a nineteen month old child back in February of this year. 20 year old Sapora D. Walton and 22 year old Jeremiah T. Carter, both of Austin Springs Road were arrested after an autopsy revealed the child died from blunt force trauma to the head and neck and was severely malnourished. Investigators responded to 310 Chestnut St. in Johnson City on February 21 and recognized several injuries to the child around the head and was underweight. Both Walton and Crater were interviewed and gave statements they couldn’t explain the injuries to the child. Walton and Crater are being housed in the Washington County Tennessee Detention Center and are scheduled for arraignment on Thursday in Washington County Tennessee General Sessions Court.
