US Senate confirms new judge to serve in the Eastern District of Tennessee
A new judge has been confirmed by the US Senate to serve in the Eastern District of Tennessee following the death of Chief Justice Pamela Reeves earlier this year.
The senate voted 48-47 to confirm Katherine Crytzer to fill the vacancy, and marks just the second female judge to be appointed to the East TN federal court system since its creation in 1878.
Crytzer is currently serving as the principal deputy assistant Attorney General in the US Dept. of Justice’s Office of Legal Policy.
