UPDATE: White militia collective who spoke of kidnap plan for Virginia governor indicted in Michigan
A mini-militia of six men who trained and plotted to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been indicted by a federal grand jury.
The five men from Michigan and one from Delaware also had similar plans for Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, according to testimony given by an FBI agent in October.
Prosecutors said the suspects trained for more than four months with automatic weapons and live explosives to capture and then place both state leaders before a so-called tribunal for issuing lockdowns during the virus pandemic.
If convicted, the six men could receive life sentences.
