National Weather Service forecast projects white Christmas

The chances of a white Christmas are beginning to trend upward based on National Weather Service models released Tuesday.
The federal weather office in Morristown says rain will change to snow with a blast of arctic air the night of Christmas Eve with snow showers continuing to fall through Christmas morning Friday.
Spots south of the Tri-Cities could see a 1 to 2-inch dusting while 2 to 3-inches could fall in towns east of Hawkins County and into Southwest Virginia where places like Wise County could receive up to 4 inches and impact area roadway conditions.
