Virginia set to finish receiving initial Moderna COVID-19 vaccine doses today

The state of Virginia is finishing deliveries of the first doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday.
State health officials say their initial order of 140,000 doses is being delivered to 96 sites across the Commonwealth. Based on Operation Warp Speed plans, VA is expected to receive 50,000 doses apiece a week of both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine for the next few weeks.
This comes as vaccinations are ongoing to frontline healthcare workers and first responders across Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee.
