NEW: Kaine, Warner join growing chorus of lawmakers who want Trump removed from White House

Both Virginia Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner joined several other lawmakers Thursday in calling for Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove President Donald Trump from office.

Kaine criticized Trump for inciting domestic terrorists and placed part of the blame for the trashing of the Capitol squarely on Capitol Police officers, noting that he was given assurances from FBI officials on increased security during the electoral college certification sessions.

By Thursday afternoon, more than two dozen Representatives and six Senators had voiced the directive to have Trump removed.
