Virginia agriculture secretary selected to deputy post at USDA by Biden
A member of Governor Ralph Northam’s cabinet will be spending the next four years in Washington, D.C.
Virginia Agriculture Commissioner Jewel Hairston Bronaugh has been selected as the Deputy Secretary of Agriculture by President-elect Joe Biden, Northam announced.
Bronaugh is a former Dean of Agriculture at Virginia State University and is a former Executive Director of the Farm Service Agency of Virginia. She will join Tom Vilsack at the USDA. He was selected for a third appointment at the agriculture department as secretary.
Vilsack previously served in that position during the two terms of the Obama administration.
