NEW: Pomrenkes to return to prison for schemes to shorten Stacey’s original sentence
Back in 2016, Stacey and Kurt Pomrenke were contacted and then paid money to a consulting firm that coached them on how to scheme and shorten their upcoming prison sentences.
IRS agents and federal prosecutors found out about the lies and now the Abingdon couple is headed back behind bars after being sentenced on Tuesday.

Stacey Pomrenke, 48, will serve two-and-a-half years in prison for fraud as Judge James Jones discounted her pleas for probation. U.S. Attorneys argued Stacey showed up drunk for her initial prison sentence—following the plan mapped out by RDAP Law Consultants that got seven months shaved off her prison time after she completed alcohol rehab behind bars.
Kurt Pomrenke, 67, will spend 1 year and 1 day in prison for his role in the plan. Kurt was originally convicted of contacting witnesses during his wife’s corruption trial for financial wrongdoing during her role as a chief financial officer for BVU.
