TSA Firearms Discoveries Down At Tri Cities Aiport, While Two Others See Increases

Tri Cities Airport, Nashville International Airport and McGhee Tyson in Knoxville all saw a reduction in the number of firearms confiscated from their airports during 2020. In the past three years, nine handguns were discovered by TSA officials at Tri Cities. Memphis International and Chattanooga Metropolitan Airports each saw a slight increase in the number of confiscated guns. Meanwhile The TSA discoveries in the State of Tennessee is nearly triple the national rate in 2020. The TSA screened about 324 million travelers at airports nationwide in 2020.
