Food City Responds To Opioid Lawsuit
K-Va-T, Food, the parent company of Food City stores says they “Vehemently disagree with allegations contained in a lawsuit filed against Food City over the sale of controlled substances like Opioids. In a statement, K-Va-T says the lawsuits allegations are grossly incorrect and unfair regarding Food City’s approach to serving its Pharmacy customers. K-VA-T says during the relevant time period of the lawsuit, a few of its pharmacies dispensed a high volume of pain management prescriptions and the company contacted independent auditors and experts in pharmacy best practices to assure that its dispensing practices were compliant with all state and federal regulations. K-Va-T concluded by saying they will expend its time and resources to defend itself to correct the serious misrepresentations made by Tennessee Attorney General Herb Slattery.
