Wise County crash leaves Coeburn woman battling life-threatening injuries

A crash in Wise County over the weekend has left a Coeburn woman battling life-threatening injuries.

Virginia State Police said the crash occurred on Saturday neat Route 72 near Caney Ridge Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The 39-year old woman driver was thrown from an A-T-V and pinned underneath. An adult male passenger was not injured. Both were not wearing seat belts or helmets.

VSP confirms the woman is being treated at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport for those life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, and police say charges are pending.
