Wise Virginia Man Sentenced To Ten Years For Meth Distribution Charges
A Wise County Virginia man, who distributed methamphetamine in Scott County is sentenced Thursday to ten years in federal prison. 37 year old Daniel Shane Carter previously pleaded guilty to one count of possessing with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of meth and one count of possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon. According to court documents, Carter transported methamphetamine from Kingsport Tennessee into Scott County and possessed a Ruger, 9mm pistol after having been convicted of a felony. The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Scott County Sheriffs office and the Southwest Virginia Drug Task Forece.
